You speak because you are compelled to speak out about what you see based on what you know — I and many others here enjoy your commentary. I think we need your posts, your thoughts, if we’re to build America back even better than it was once all this Trump shit is over.
Stop thinking you don’t have value if your stats are down. You are not a news station. You are a thoughtful and eloquent speaker who is writing evergreen, well-written essays in a world where a lot of the younger are pulled into short-form entertainment — and who a lot of people appreciate because that seems to be missing in the world around us.
Response can be difficult — I am in a Master’s degree program at Seton Hill for Writing Popular Fiction and I have a freelance editor who is helping me better my own abilities in writing and editing. Sometimes I just don’t have the mental and emotional energy to talk politics — the firehouse of news that comes at us on a daily basis is fucking insane and that’s the way I feel I’m leaning (insane) when I try to keep informed.
You must write for you. Write because you have something to say.
Write because in 100 years someone may come across your work and be changed by it.
