Trucks Don't Exist
If you live in a constructed bubble - what I call a "bespoke reality," you can't clearly evaluate facts, trends or causality. It isn't possible to accurately foresee events and consequences, because the viewer has already decided to see things through an exclusionary lens - anything that doesn't fit the ideological filter simply isn't acknowledged.
If you decided that trucks didn't exist, and refused to acknowledge the existence of trucks, it would be impossible for you to acknowledge, or act upon a truck roaring down on you in a crosswalk. Whatever psychological benefits you derived from your bizarre belief become irrelevant as you are smeared across the pavement like a crayon.
This is why the MAGAs who have already been harmed by Trump and Musk's wilding spree are genuinely surprised. They chose to believe the proposition that liberals, trans folk, immigrants &c. were responsible for all their problems. When confronted with facts, they simply rejected them, and doubled down on the magic of faith in their leader. When their leader and his vandalistic goons gored them, they were shocked, and left groping for an explanation.
They will find one eventually. And another, and another. Because they are not thinkers, they are believers. And there's always someone willing to tell them what to believe.
Not believing in trucks. Ignorance is bliss. Until it isn't.
